Artist's Statement
Grass Series: When I am driving throughout Ontario, I get quick images of the grasses along the city and country roadways. My imagination is engage by the diversity of colour and texture, line and shape. Painting with action abstract expressive strokes translates these images onto the canvas. The up-close atypical perspective engages the viewer’s attention enabling me to share my Ontario personified landscapes. Eleven of the Grass Series (included three diptychs) were included in my 2008 solo show at Neilson Park Creative Centre.
Biography: Patricia Lynne Harris has exhibited in three solo shows, numerous group shows and annual juried art shows. Her work has been recognized with awards, published in a book and newspapers, and been purchased.
She is a member of the Etobicoke Art Group, Toronto Guild of Stitchery, York Heritage Quilt Guild, and Visual Arts of Ontario.
